Bookkeeping & Cloud Accounting in Manchester
Clear, up to date books are the foundation of every good business decision. We keep your records accurate and reconciled every month on Xero or QuickBooks, for sole traders, limited companies and busy owners across Greater Manchester who would rather run the business than type invoices into a spreadsheet.
What’s included.
Everything a finance function does day to day, without hiring one.
- Bookkeeping in Xero or QuickBooks, kept reconciled every month, not rescued once a year.
- Bank feeds connected and checked, so every transaction is captured and categorised.
- Sales and purchase invoices processed, with receipt capture so paperwork photographs itself in.
- Monthly bank, credit card and supplier reconciliations.
- VAT-ready records that feed straight into your returns.
- Software setup, migration from spreadsheets or another system, and training included as standard.
- A clean year-end file, so your accounts land faster and cost less to prepare.
- A monthly picture of how the business is doing, in plain English.
How it works.
First we look at what you have: the software, the backlog, and how invoices and receipts currently reach you. Then we set up or tidy Xero or QuickBooks, agree a fixed monthly fee, and take the routine off your desk.
Day to day, bank feeds pull transactions in automatically and receipt capture means a photo replaces the shoebox. We reconcile every month and query anything that looks wrong at the time, not a year later. Because the records stay current, everything downstream starts from the same clean ledger: VAT returns, payroll, year-end accounts and management reporting, with nothing entered twice.
Reconciled means something specific here: every line in the software agreed to the bank, every difference explained, every month. It is the difference between records you can act on and records that merely exist, and it is why the monthly figure we send you can be trusted without checking it yourself.
Clean digital records are also the preparation for what is coming. VAT registered businesses already keep digital records and file through software under Making Tax Digital, and the same approach is being extended to more taxpayers over time. A business whose bookkeeping is current every month has nothing to change when its turn arrives.
Not sure whether you need a bookkeeper, an accountant, or both? Our guide to bookkeeping versus accounting explains where one ends and the other begins.
Who it’s for.
Sole traders and the self-employed who want their records ready for self-assessment without the January scramble. Owner-managed limited companies that need clean books behind their statutory accounts and VAT. Partnerships and LLPs where more than one person needs to trust the same numbers.
Landlords who want rental income and expenses tracked properly by property, and CIS subcontractors whose deduction statements deserve a better filing system than the van dashboard. We work with businesses across Eccles, Salford and MediaCityUK and the rest of Greater Manchester, in person or over Teams.

Common questions.
How much does bookkeeping cost per month?
A fixed monthly fee, agreed before we start, based on the volume of transactions and what you want covered. There are no hourly surprises, and the initial consultation is free.
Do I have to use Xero or QuickBooks?
No, but we recommend one of the two. We work in both every day and will suggest whichever fits your business better. If you are on something else, we can usually either work with it or migrate you across without losing your history.
My books are months behind. Can you catch them up?
Yes, catch-up work is one of the most common ways clients arrive. We agree a one-off fixed fee for the backlog, bring everything up to date, then move you onto the normal monthly routine so it does not build up again.
What do I have to do each month?
Very little. Photograph receipts as they arrive, raise your invoices, and answer the occasional query when something in the bank feed is not obvious. The reconciling, categorising and chasing of loose ends is our job.
Will good bookkeeping make my year-end accounts cheaper?
Usually, yes. A large part of a year-end fee reflects the state of the records that arrive. When the ledger is reconciled every month there is far less to fix at year end, and the accounts are ready sooner.
