Accountants in Salford and Salford Quays
Salford's economy is not one thing. It is limited companies with staff and premises, and it is a large freelance population invoicing day rates out of MediaCityUK. We do the accounts for both, from an office a few Metrolink stops away in Eccles.

Production, post, sound, design, presenting, developer contracts. The pattern is the same: irregular income, a lot of small expenses, and a tax bill that arrives long after the money has been spent. The work is mostly about getting ahead of it. Keeping a running picture of what you owe rather than finding out in January. Sorting out what is genuinely claimable when you work from home and on site. Getting the salary and dividend split right if you run through a limited company.
If you take some contracts inside the off-payroll working rules and others outside, we keep the two apart and make sure you are not taxed twice on the same income.
Should you be a limited company yet?
Not always. Incorporating typically starts to pay once profits sit consistently above roughly £30,000 to £40,000 a year, but it depends on how much you take out, whether you need a company for the contracts you want, and how much admin you are willing to carry. We will tell you where you actually are rather than sell you a company you do not need.
Our guide to sole trader vs limited company walks through the same decision in more detail.
Limited companies across Salford
For companies with premises and payroll the job is bigger and duller: statutory accounts, the corporation tax return, VAT returns under Making Tax Digital, monthly payroll with RTI and pension auto-enrolment, and management figures often enough that you can act on them rather than read them as history.
We also handle the company secretarial side, confirmation statements, share changes, registered office and director filings, so nothing quietly goes late at Companies House. Every one of those sits on our services page.
A few stops from the Quays
Our office is on Tetlow Grove in Eccles, at the far end of the Metrolink Eccles line, which runs through Salford Quays, Harbour City and MediaCityUK on its way into town. In practice that means we can be at your desk quickly, and it is an easy trip in the other direction if you would rather come to us. Plenty of clients do neither and work with us entirely over Teams.
Fixed fees, and a painless switch
One fixed monthly fee agreed before we start, covering the filings you need rather than a package you do not. If you already have an accountant, we handle the handover under professional clearance and re-register as your agent with HMRC and Companies House. Most switches take two to three weeks and you never have to make the awkward call.

FAQs
Questions from Salford and the Quays
I freelance at MediaCityUK. Should I be a sole trader or a limited company?
It depends on your profit and what you draw. As a rough marker, incorporating tends to make sense once profits are consistently above £30,000 to £40,000 a year, but some agencies and production companies will only contract with a limited company, which can settle it for you regardless. We will run your actual numbers both ways at the free consultation and tell you which is genuinely better.
Do you take on one-person limited companies, or only bigger businesses?
One-person companies are a large part of what we do. A single director company still needs statutory accounts, a corporation tax return, a confirmation statement, payroll if you take a salary and a personal tax return on top. The compliance load is not much lighter than a company with staff, which is exactly why handing it over is worth it.
Can we meet at the Quays instead of your office?
Yes. George comes to you, whether that is an office at MediaCityUK, a co-working desk or a coffee at the Quays, and the Metrolink from Eccles takes minutes. If your week does not allow it, everything can be done over Microsoft Teams instead.
