Accountants in Trafford Park, Urmston and Stretford
Trafford Park is warehouses, workshops, logistics and the trades that service them, and the accounting that comes with it is payroll-heavy and deadline-heavy. If you run a construction business, employ a site team, or subcontract under CIS, this is the part of our work you want.
Book a free consultationCIS, from verification through to your refund
If you are the contractor
Verifying subcontractors with HMRC, applying the right deduction rate, filing the monthly CIS return by the 19th and issuing deduction statements, so you are not the one carrying a penalty for someone else's paperwork.
If you are the subcontractor
20% has been taken off your money all year, or 30% if you were never verified, and there is usually a refund sitting behind a properly prepared return once materials, travel, tools and the rest are claimed. We prepare it and chase it rather than telling you to wait and see.
Payroll for site and warehouse teams
Weekly, fortnightly or monthly payroll with RTI submissions on or before payday, starters and leavers, statutory pay, holiday, and pension auto-enrolment assessed for you every period. If your headcount moves with the work, as it does across the Park, the payroll has to move with it without anything being missed.
The VAT domestic reverse charge
Construction services supplied between VAT registered businesses inside the CIS chain fall under the domestic reverse charge: you do not charge the contractor VAT, they account for it themselves. It is a cash flow change as much as a compliance one, and it is one of the more common places we find invoices being raised wrongly. We check how your invoicing is set up, fix the templates, and file the returns.
And everything else a construction business needs
Year end accounts and corporation tax, bookkeeping that keeps job costs visible while the job is still running, and advice on whether to stay a sole trader or incorporate as the contracts get bigger. All of it is on our services page, and it is priced as one fixed monthly fee agreed before we start rather than billed by the hour.
Urmston, Stretford and the estate
Trafford Park has its own Metrolink line now, and Urmston and Stretford sit either side of it. Our office is in Eccles, over the ship canal and a short drive away, which for a site-based business usually means George coming to you between jobs rather than the other way round. Early starts are not a problem.
George is ACCA and ATT qualified and Isaacs & Co is part of Affinity Associates, a UK Top 50 firm with over 60 years of experience. We are rated 5.0 on Google.

FAQs
CIS, payroll and VAT questions we get asked
I am a CIS subcontractor. How do I get my tax refund?
Through your self assessment return. The deductions taken from your payments across the year are set against the tax you actually owe once your expenses are in, materials, travel, tools, protective clothing, use of home and so on, and the difference is repaid. Keep your deduction statements, get the return filed early in the tax year rather than in January, and the refund arrives sooner.
Can you run weekly payroll for a site team?
Yes. Weekly is normal in construction and we run it that way for clients, with the RTI submission going to HMRC on or before each payday, along with starters, leavers, statutory payments and pension auto-enrolment. You send us the hours, we send back the payslips and tell you what to pay HMRC.
Does the VAT domestic reverse charge apply to my business?
It applies where you supply construction services to another VAT registered business that is inside the CIS chain and is not the end user. It does not apply when you invoice a homeowner or an end user client directly. The distinction decides how every invoice you raise should look, so it is worth having someone check your setup once rather than correcting a year of returns later.
